Rather than painting from a single reference photograph, I returned to the creek again and again, climbing down its steep banks at sunset over multiple evenings until I found the exact moment I had been searching for. By the end of the process, I had captured hundreds of photographs—not in search of a perfect composition alone, but to understand what the changing light was doing to the landscape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvening transformed everything.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe water did not simply reflect the world around it. It gathered the colors of the trees, the earth, and the fading sky until the creek seemed to absorb the landscape into itself. Golds, blues, reds, and browns became part of the current, while the surrounding forest shimmered in the last light of day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBefore beginning the final painting, I created multiple study pieces to solve the composition and color relationships. The finished work combines watercolor with carefully placed gouache, allowing intricate foliage and woodland textures to emerge while preserving the luminous quality that first drew me to the scene.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe frame itself was also created as part of the artwork's journey.
